The Claude Monet puzzle
Fields of Poppies
This puzzle measures 16" - 20" and contains over 600 pieces. This is the first puzzle we cut in "Swirl Cut" style cutting. Swirl style pieces are very elegant.
Here is a good look from the back to see more of those swirl pieces. This view also gives you a good look at the grain in the mahogany, the richness of it's color, and a nice view at the figural spaces.
This is something brand new to puzzling, we unveiled this technique at the 2008 Puzzle Parley in Sturbridge Massachusetts. These special figurals are called "Shadow Figurals"
They have a small tab at the bottom of the figural that hold them in place as you pop them up into the puzzle, and they leave a perfect shadow behind them.
They make a perfect display when you have finished the puzzle.
Here is a figural from the back and the arrow points to the small tab that is cut with the figural, this tab anchors the figural to the puzzle when it is popped up.
Here is that same figural from the front popped up in the puzzle. You can see the shadow behind it.
Fantastic!
This puzzle contains another first...
The first full size teaser puzzle to be contained in the middle of a print.
A group of butterflies flooder in the poppies, they connect to each other, but have no surrounding pieces that show how they connect to the main puzzle.
Here is the teaser element from the back,
and another great look at those swirl pieces.
This is a good example of "windows" We do these all the time, and it adds a nice touch to this gem of a puzzle.
