Cotton the duck is a real Peking duck that lives with our friend and artist Gary Hamel in his studio in Orange NH.
When Cotton was just a baby duck, he got his leg caught in a vine and broke it. Gary took him in and after months it healed but he always had a limp. When Cotton was reintroduced to the flock, the others rejected him and pulled his feathers out as if to cull him out. Gary decided that Cotton should stay inside from then on.
